Description:
From a single plant selected for male sterility and open pollinated in the field in 1992. This yellow seeded plant and green inflorescence plant was from a rare brown seed in a PLAINSMAN (PI 558499) seed lot.
Notes breeding: Male sterile accessions are useful to plant breeders as female parents for making controlled crosses between plants. Because the pollen is sterile, they cant self pollinate, and therefore develop only hybrid seeds.
